I have searched the world wide web (I have to thank Al Gore for inventing the internet) and can not find any information on my problem. I have a old 1980's spa. I purchased it used. The only identification I can find, is on the pump, it has the name Hercules on it. Anyhow, the color of the shell is a brownish color. When the water is drained the shell is not glossy. It has a white chaulky appearance. I have tried all kind of cleaners, and even tried rubbing compound. Nothing worked. Someone told me the gel-gloss is gone from the shell which makes it glossy. I beleive boat owners have the same problem on their fiberglass boats. Does anyone know how to get the gloss appearance back? I even tried waxing it and that really does not work.

It is now 4th down and 40, this is my last attempt.

I know this reply is late, but I just got a spa and am searching for info on it and ran across your post. I previously saw a post of this site that talks about how theis product "Leisure Time Spa Gloss" has kept a member's spa looking like new for over 10 years. I would think it could add a shine to yours like a good auto wax- but it sounds like it would definately seal if well for you to prevent further damage.

Here is one online store that carries it- but lots do.
Good luck!
