I was just given a Califonia Legend Spa. Took it home and filled it full of water and it worked on low speed. However, when I switched it to high speed. It cut off. I waited for a bit and tried again on low, it wouldn't come back on. I disconnected from power, drained, and tilted it up on it's side (needed to be cleaned). Waited a few days, untilted it, filled it, power and it worked on low until I hit the high button and it cut off again.
The light works in the tub, I hear the relys energizing but the motor will not come on again (even on low speed). I'm thinking since it worked on low initially that my PC board is ok. I didn't get a book with this and I think it's somewhere between a 92-94 model. The motor is a two speed motor(220v). I'm thinking there is a switch somewhere that's locking out the operation of the spa but I really don't know where. Any help is appreciated.

Forgot to mention is a Dimension-1 Spa. The control on top is just low-high, light, economy, normal with a dial for temp. I can take some pictures but don't have a server to post them to. Thanks for any help

still not working. I looked at the schematic and it has a flow switch, Sensor (hi-limit/freezer), and Sensor (temp) on J1, J2, and J3. Would any of these prevent the motor from coming on? I'm looking at the visible plumbing and I don't see any flow switch to turn. Can I jump any of these switches? I also loosed the fittings at the motor to make sure there was no air lock. Any help appreciated- Chuck

Chuck, on your motor, do you have one or two "ears" (they are like little cans bulging out from the surface of the motor). If so, they house capacitors, and one of them (high speed most likely) may be either defective, or a wire broke off all together. When you switch to highspeed, does it run for a very short bit and then cut out, or die all together? if it runs for a moment, then it's very likely the capacitor is bad, and you are tripping out the thermal overload in the motor, and these can take a while to self reset. Hope this helps, or at least gives you clues!
