Hi,

There is no smell of ozone from the Delzone Spa Eclipse Ozonator in my '96 Hot Springs Classic. I replaced the original UV when it turned to dust and used the same plumbing. Seemed to work for a couple of months then no more. The little purple glow shows in the window, there's no water in the line getting to it. I can blow through the check valve/injector but can't suck. There are little bubbles coming up from the bottom.

Troubleshooting tips, anyone?

Thank you!
David

Delzone ozonators are a "chip" style ozonator. Typically they are rather inexpensive and have very shrt life spans. If you like the idea of having an ozonator go to your hotsprings dealer and get a "Corona Discharge", CD, ozonator. It'll outlast your tub. Hotsprings has their own specific one.

Everything sounds good. There should be no water in the line and there's a check valve in place so that you can blow air through but not suck water in. Your ozone generator is just a gas chamber with a straw connected to it. The circulation from your spa is slowly sucking the ozone out as the water moves. If the bulb is on, ozone is being generated.

When you say there's no smell, do you mean from the water or at the unit itself? The ozone may be getting depleted. How is the water sanitized? Have you shocked it lately?

CD ozonators still go bad, produce less ozone, and don't have replaceable bulbs so there's no reason to swap out your perfectly good unit.
