After a year the pillows on my D1 Sarena Bay started 'chalking'. I noticed when I would wipe down the tub's water line, some gray 'rubber' would fall off of the pillows into the water. This got worse and worse over the months. I finally peeled them off the wall (six of them) and contacted D1 after my selling dealer didn't respond to my calls.

D1 said to work w/ the dealer :( so,,,, I tried again. The dealer said it was my water and since I hadn't had all my water tests done thru them, they couldn't warranty them. D1 pretty much agreed they said. So, $110 later I have six new pillows, feel cheated and want to avoid a repeat. I'm going to mail the old ones to D1 - maybe they can make some improvement and maybe they'll find an issue and realize it wasn't my water as I test it myself at least 2x per week.

Any one else seeing parts deterioration in D1 tubs - pillows, under water switches, etc.????

Thanks,,

It's usually the water chemistry
Don't expect your pillows to last much longer than a few years anyway, they're just rubber and foam, sitting a fairly corrosive environment. D1 warranty's the pillows more than a year? Most manufactures I deal with warranty things like pillows and filters for a year at the most, many "at time of delivery" only.

I can say, without question, D-1 is one of the finest, courteous, professional Spa companies I've ever conducted business with. They'll be there for you when you really need them.

What are you using for sanitizer, and where do you keep your PH levels?
