I'm new to the world of O3 Options but have been running a simple self installed and maintained in-ground gel coated tub system for 28 years.

That tub finally gave up the ghost and I had to break down and finally enter the 21st Century aspect of Hot Tubs and all the wonderful options that have become available. After spending many weeks perusing the different brands & models and knowing I wanted to incorporate my existing equipment, I ended up going with LS7700 as I was able to make some changes to the build and had it somewhat customized. None of the usual suspects, CalSpa and others, would even give me the time of day when I brought up the aspect of deletions or non typical option requests.

Over the years, I've had discussions with my parts people about Ozonators and due to the efficiency of my set up, they seemed to feel my needs just didn't justify the expense.

I ordered the new tub without the typical spa pack. I have my own new equipment, all very new. Ruud heater, 1hp pump for heating and running 1/4 of the jets, and I added a 2hp WhisperFlo to drive the other 3/4. The equipment pad is located about 20 feet away from the tub.

I recently discovered the Platinum Spa Eclipse and it appears the higher output and my relatively short run times, 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours, this may be the unit for me.

My question is about plumbing this into my venturi system and having the O3 exiting through all the jets. Will this have an impact on the plastic materials on the jets or the ball bearings on the twirling units? Should I incorporate this in a very small jet seemingly dedicated to an ozonator?

My thanks to all for this wonderful repository of information and the tremendous responses to many of the questions.

Is it Tub Time yet?

I'm not positive what you are referring to as your existing venturi system. What is important is where it's located. Ozone has a lifespan of a few seconds, lets just say 5 to 10 seconds. In most applications, the ozone is depleted and converted before it even gets to the water in the tub. It is important that it gets injected into the water stream as soon as its generated. A dedicated ozone jet would be a perfect addition. However, adding it to the water prior to the water hitting all the jets won't have any significant impact on the jets, or the operation of the ozone. What I would not do is introduce the ozone to the air supply lines going to the jet venturi. The ozone would break down before being introduced to the water.

Thanks for the comments Charger1. You were a busy guy yesterday. It's always a challenge to be a little less vague when describing plumbing/electrical/air lines and various other nomenclatures associated with the tubs.

The Del Zone page shows the venturi option as the first choice. Maybe to retrofit in an existing system. With my set up in 1977, I installed the blower with an Ortega Valve and a separate venturi line. Both the old and current set up have an extremely good draw.

Del Zone is also showing an optional insertion to the tub water return line and I had the foresight to place some gate valves after the heater and before the tub. I'll ponder the option further.

My initial question had to do with whether the O3 via air before water introduction would impact the plastic on the back side of the jets or the bearings I hear spinning. After doing some further research over the past few days, it appears to no be a problem.

Thanks for all your assistance to this board.
