hello,i recieved an older cal spa from my parents and have some general questions on proper operation
the tub is 78x78 ,wired 220,i am not sure of the year but i did replace the Thermostat switch and the clock timer/motor and the old one had 1997 on it, i am not sure if it is oem or a replacment,, the conrol box is a manual ps-2 i am told, this is my situation.the tub is running and holding water temp fine at this time with the tub on freeze protection setting, it kicks on and runs for a few minites the heater works and comes on every time and kicks off fine ,jets are working fine with no power issues throwing breakers ect,if i switch it to clock timer the clock holds time fine and the filter comes on as set but the water temp goes down ,so i guess what i need to know is in a non freeze climate is the normal operating setting clock timer and something is not regulating the water temp or do you set the pins on the clock timmer to run long to keep the tub water temp as set.
this is my understanding of how it should work
the clock timer is for setting filteration time and duration, freeze protection is to keep the pump and plumming from freezing, the high limit switch keeps the tub from overheating,if the normal operation mode is clock timer what regulates the water temp,i hope i explained this ok and thanks for any help, newbee bigken
