I guy in my town was giving the hot tub away. It runs and no really problems. Then other day I go and craw into it and ZAPPPPP. what a bite. The water only have about 48 vac flotting in it. But it was to much for me. I unpluge the heater and no problems. Any reasons why the heater would be bleding off elcetricy? Go figger. The box were the heater plugs into and light is dry and a bone. let me know what you think. Also if any one out there could tell me what kind of tub I have that would help to. Thanks for the help

Your heater element has failed. The electricity is coming directly from it.

Current leakage is a common element failure, but when wired properly, you never feel a shock.
Ground the equip. properly, and install a GFCI on there as well.
