Hi All,
We own a Platinum Spa. Due to high energy costs in the Netherlands Europe, we decided to buy a heatpump to lower the costs of heating the spa.
We've bought a 6kw Duratech heatpump to heat our spa. A heatpump needs to be installed between the pump and jets which flows into the spa. Because of the capacity of our spa pump (2,5 HP) we need to install a bypass. This will make sure that the exact amount of water is allowed into the heatpump. A bypass is made of 3 valves.
Question; our main pump is a Aquaflow 2.5hp 2-speed pump. At speed 1, the amount of water transported by the pump (and through the heatpump) is enough to stay between the min-and max. range. But if we use the 2nd speed (high power/massage) the pump transports to much water and the heatpump will damage. The bypass will make sure that we don't exceed that limit. The valves will divide the flow of water (E.g. 30% through heatpump and 70% bypass) Will this % of dividing be the same at low and high speed ? In other words; pump at high speed --> exact amount of water will flow to heatpump //BUT// pump at low speed---> amount (%) of water still ok ? (so does pressure alter or lower the percentage of flow)
I know that it is a difficult question, especially due to translation issues. Although I hope to get some reactions soon !
