Both circulation pumps are leaking on my Sundance Optima. The one on the left (foot & deep seat jets) leaks real bad. I've seen places indicating that i should just replace the pumps with new ones versus fixing the leak. These same thoughts seem to indicate the leak is within the pump, not at the housing. Anyone have thoughts?

sounds to me like you are referring to the jet pumps, not the circulation pump. If the pump shafts aren't rusted too bad, you could probably be able to remove the impellers and replace the seals. Most of the time, however, when the pumps are noticably leaking, they have actually been leaking for a long time, and the motor shafts are usually rusted so bad that the impellers will be nearly impossible to remove in one piece, if they aren't already cracked. Do a visual inspection as best as you can between the motor and the pump, and see how rough that shaft is. If you can still see a bit of shiny silver, you may be in luck. If it's flaking or extremely rough, plan on a new pump. Keep us posted as to your progress!
