I have a '91 Sovereign that is leaking somewhere. It is NOT leaking in the motor compartment. I have checked the big silver band around the motor and tightened that. I have checked the drain and it is closed off tight. I am at a loss as to what it could be. We recently drained it and it sat for a couple of months. We relocated it and refilled it. It was fine for about two weeks but now it is losing about an inch a day. I haven't let it get below the filters.

What can I do? Destroying the outside wood and digging foam does not really appeal to me. If I call for repair how long do you think it will take or cost? I don't want to dump too much money into repairing an old tub but can't afford a new one either.

Please help !!!
Kari

Look very closely around the light lens.

If it was the light lens wouldn't there be water standing in the motor compartment? It is staying dry. I will check again and feel too. It seems I read somewhere about a false wall in the motor compartment. Would the light leak behind that false wall? I am really learning alot about this hot tub stuff as I have been thrown into troubleshooting within the first month of ownership. Yikes !!!

A light leak may leak behind the equip compartment, behind the "false wall" that is part of the base of the equip compartment floor. It rises up near the back, and creates barrier between the spa shell and equip. compartment. A light lens leak will leak in between that wall and the shell, sometimes leaving the equip. comp bone dry.
To check, run you finger around and just below the light lens.

Good luck

I looked closely and felt around the light and did not find any water. I am actually sorry I didn't find any water as this means the leak is probably buried in the foam.

I am waiting for a new cover to be delivered. The old one is wet and always dripping along the outside. Is it at all possible that condensation is my problem?
