Hi there,
I just inherited a Caldera hot tub that I discovered has a leak in one of it's flex hoses.
I think this must of been because of some freeze damage as the hose is at the very bottom of the tub. The hose is about 3/4" thick and the split is about 1/2" away from a 6 way manifold fitting that is being fed from the main 2" line.
My question is this: It appears the split is JUST far enough away from the PVC manifod, leaving about a 1/2" of good flex hose.
My plan is to cut out the bad section of the flex hose, rub away all the insulation foam and abraid the hose so I could splice in another section of flex hose with two couplers.
Do you think that the 1/2" of flex hose next to the manifold is enough to connect a coupler to on an 3/4" line? I'm concerned that is not enough hose to glue the coupler to - and that perhaps the better course of action is to replace the WHOLE manifold (there are actually 3 manifolds so closely glued, I'd actually have to replace all thee of them: A 6 way, 4 way, and 2 way). I'd like not to have to replace the whole manifold works, but I really don't feel like tearing apart my hot tub again to fix this leak.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Matt

I would attempt at a repair first. I have done that type of repair many times. Be sure you use flexible pvc cement and the appropriate cleaner.

if you have full access in front of the manifold where the flex pipe is flued in, cut the flex pipe off flush, then use a heat gun (sometimes a good hairdryer will do) to heat and soften the flex pipe in the joint - insert a screwdriver between softened flex pipe and fitting, once there's enough gap, insert long nose pliers and simply twist the flex pipe out of the joint
clean and prime the joint and you are good to go for a new flex pipe joint.

Ah, thanks for all the advise...
but, I found that the manifold assembly was completely cracked underneath from freeze damage (I can't wait to find out what else if broken).
So, I cut that out.
One last question:
Where is the best place to find water manifolds online?
I've searched my town up and down for replacement parts, and no carries them...
I need:
a 6 port manifold, slip in (2" main pipe, 3/4" outlets)
a 4 port manifold, slip in (2" main pipe, 1" outlets)
a 2 port end cap manifold that caps then end of a pipe, but feeds out 2 -1" lines (2" main pipe, 1" outlets)
I'm posting some pictures so you can have a better idea of what I'm looking for.

Yeah,
I can get the 6 way port there, as it is 3/4"...
but there are no manifolds with 1" ports..
and I don't see the end cap thingy (which I need because space is tight)
any other sites out there?
Thanks.
