During the rebuild of my Hercules tub I discovered that the filter housing was cracked and broken along with the retaining ring. This setup was a skimmer/filter. I've been looking around and I can't seem to find a replacement.

In the picture below you can see what the cannister looks like. I have now removed it by prying off the broken retainer ring and lifting it through the hole in the tub shell.

Any ideas on what I can use to replace this? The hole in the tub shell is 6 5/8".

Do I have to have a skimmer type filter?
