I am replacing two motors on my CalSpa. One single and one two speed(240v 4hp)
I am also replacing the wiring harnesses. Naturally, the old harnesses (wire colors) do no match the new ones.
I want to make sure I get the new connections correct.
1. Is there a usual wire color to be hooked to the Hi, Lo and Common terminals on the two speed? i.e Red=Hi, etc.
2. On the single speed, does it matter which lead goes to each of the two terminals? The motor says it's nonreversible.
Thanks.

"normal" wire color codes:
Red = Low speed
Black = High speed
White = Neutral (120V) or L2 (240V)
Green = Ground
With the single high speed pump, if 240V, it won't matter which way you connect the L1 and L2 wires. In order to reverse a motor, the internal windings must be re-wired in your situation, so have no fear.

Just a note for others that Cal Spa basic set up does the wiring the "wrong" way- for 2 speed pumps red is the high and black is the low. At least that is true for mine, I think I've seen a couple other folks on here that report the same.
Just wanted to get that out there cause I got messed up and wasted some time.
