Spa was working fine until I changed water today. I killed the main power, drained and refilled the tub completely then turned the main breaker back on. Am now getting the 3 red lights and msg "check water level and clean filters .. cycle power ... if not work - call for service". The main pumps run fine but the small heater pump runs about 3-4 seconds then cycles off, then back on after about 8-10 seconds and on and on. I have tried cycling the power at the breaker again but same results. Under warranty but trying to avoid a service call if I've missed something. Thanks if any advice. RS

could be a flow problem, maybe an air lock? pump starts up, realizes there is no water flowing through and shuts itself off and then tries again? Or it could be an electrical problem. I would try checking for an air lock first, then call and get it looked at if its still under warrantee.

Certainly sounds like an air lock in your circ pump to me.

Thanks, yep even the dealer advised it's likley an air lock. Other than the manual telling me to loosen connections after winterizing to clear air - anyone have this spa or worked on one that can lend a hand at what to do - i.e. do I loosen and run hose water into the line or run the pump while removing the line or heck... even heard of using a plunger at the intake to pump / suck. Too cold today but going to work on it soon to get it going and try to avoid the dealer trip.
thanks!

The plunger works if you know what line the pump is on. Loosening a plumbing fitting on the pressure side of the pump will work too. Or, if you have suction side filters you can force water through the line to the circ pump with a garden hose.
