Post subject: No flo when I push the Hi/Low/off button

I just got out of my hot tub tonight after sitting in it for about 30 minutes with no bubbles! I have a 1995/96 hot tub that was bought at Menards. It's an Echo Model, but I have a manual which has JACUZZI referenced in it. I believe it's a model "z-115 or 120" It has 2 Magnatek pumps in it. It also is wired for 220volt operation.

While I was in it, the spa controller worked to bring it to STAN mode from ECON. I needed to press the icon on the controller that looks like a jet. I usually can toggle between the HIGH setting and the LOW setting. Today it only ran and circulatted the water in the LOW setting.

What's the deal? I think I may have to replace the motor. How can I tell which one it is, and do I have to drain the tub to do this. I will probably have to call for service, but I just want to be informed, before I fork out what I think will be $300-$400.

Please advise.

Thanks

Dave

Actually if you call a tech on this, it may end up being double that amount, depending on the actual cause of the problem - so be prepared.

If you've got a way to take some pictures of the guts of this thing it'll help a tremendous amount. Especially of the controller itself, the pumps, and the topside panel. (If taking the cover off of the controller isn't a problem for you - with the power off of course - a pic of that will help also).

For what it's worth, I don't think your problem will be with a pump motor.
