I have a 1999 Marin Sundance Spa that I bought from my neighbors across the street. I got a group of eight friends together yesterday to help me move it. We tipped it up on its side (air blower in the air) and moved it with a furniture dolly.

Once I got all the electrial hooked up and got the tub cleaned, prepped, etc... I filled it with water by shoving the hose down the filter pipe. Once it was filled I turned on the breaker and it tripped a few times before it actually stayed on, but eventually stayed on. We turned on the the jets and the air blower and they both worked fine, but once they were turned off the circulation pump does not turn on at all. The digital readout on the controller flashes 'FLO Circ'.

I turned the breaker off to check the connections on the circulation pump. When I turned the breaker back on I would here a click from the hot tub and then the breaker would trip. The breaker would not stay on unless I disconnected the circulation pump from the circuit board. The circulation pump was covered in a white powdery substance. Do you have any suggestions?

It sounds like your pump seal is leaking, this is probably what is causing your gfci to trip.
