We have a Coast spa. I was drained and covered over the summer. Last weekend I drained the rain water that was in it, pulled the filter, cleaned it and then refilled the spa through the filter.

Once I turned the breaker on I got the "FLO" message on the control panel. Per the manual, I closed gate 2 and unscrewed the top bleeder on the pump and let water flow out for a while. But that didn't help. I even tried the bleeder on the filter top, but there was no pressure to release.

There were no known problems prior to draining it. What should I try next?

Thanks for the help.

Is your pump running? Remember that a flo error indicates bad flow, which is usually caused because the pump is not activating.

Thanks for the reply.

There are two pumps. Pump one tries to run when the breaker is turned on but then shuts off and displays the FLO message. Pump two does the same thing if you push the button.

therefore the problem is that the pump is supposed to be on and is not, check the voltage coming out of the pump receptacle to see if the pump is getting constant voltage, if it is not then the problem is a relay in the control box.

Well, thinking that it was an air lock, I loosened the hose going into pump one and let water run out. Still no luck so....I did the same to both sides of the heating tube. Water runs but I still get the FLO message. Pump 1 gets warm when the breaker is on so it'sdefinately getting power. Everything was fine before I drained it. Now after putting water back in I'm getting this message.

Thanks for the help.
