Ok, so I came home from a trip one day and there was some 'white' stuff floating around in the tub and wasn't keeping up the temp, actually loosing heat. Filter was clogged. The 'stuff' looks like cloth or paper towel or even a lint sheet, it's broken up. So, I shut it off, drained it, cleaned it real good, put in a NEW filter, filled it back up with cold water, primed the pumps, turned it on, everything worked great, it heated all the way up to 100 (set temp) in 4 hours like it should and the ciculation pump (pump 1 on this model) shut off. So I'm all happy and went to bed. Next day the pump does not shut off, keeps running and the temperature has dropped again. The heat switch shut off the heater. So, then I turn the temp down on the control panel on top to 93, which was 3 degrees under the temp it currently stated it was, and the pump does not shut off?? So, I turn breaker off for 30 minutes, turn it back on, and the heater works and brings it back up, but the pump doesn't stop-turn the temp below the set temp but pump doesn't shut off. Next day it keeps dropping again, and to reiterate, the temp drops and even if I turn the temp down all the way below the display temp, the pump does not shut off like it should. If I turn the temp way up, and the jets on full, heater does not come on either. However, like I said, if I RESET the system, it will work for awhile then start shutting the heater off.....and losing temp

I'm thinking it's either one of the three:

1. something is clogging the system, however, all jets work fine, full pressure, I have taken the filter out to see if more flow would make the heater turn on, and it does not-so I'm 99% sure its NOT the heating element since it does occasionally come back on when reset via breaker and there are no error messages.

2. The thermostat which is on the heater element (sits on top of the element underneath-looks like a mushroom) is flaking out and not functioning with the control pad sensor (board) on top?; or

3. the temperature sensor?

All this started after I found this broken up cloth/paper clogging the filter and floating around, but like I said, there is no congestion ANYMORE, pumps work fine, and tub was completely drained, cleaned and refilled and worked fine for about 6 hours......now the heater will only work when tub is reset, and will only work for a little while...

I have a 2000 coleman california model 107, 220 volt.
control panel is on the top of the tub.
There are NO error messages
Flow is NOT hindered
Cleaning cycle set to 3 hours twice a day (code F3)
There are NO leaks
ALL skimmers are clean inside the tub and above filter

ANY HELP or insight would be GREATLY appreciated...

Thanks,

marky
