Post subject: rotating jets have stopped rotating

5 year old Sundance Spa religiously maintained. Hard water here in west Texas but chemistry always kept corrected.

Tried soaking jets in white vinegar as suggested by local dealer...no help. Any ideas welcomed.

Thanks,
Todd

Try replacing the jets.

You've got to realize that these things are made of plastic, some with nylon bearings and sleeves, even some with ball bearings that are encapsulated in a nylon or other type of plastic housing.

It's the plastic that wears out, because of the long term damage done by small particulate matter in the water.... sand, dirt.. etc.

I'd try replacing two or three first, see if that works, and if so, then buy the rest that you need to fix your tub.

It's probably the most reasonable thing you can do.

I had the same problem with my rotating jets. My son found serval ball bearings in the bottom of the tub whilst swimming around with his goggles on. Further investigation reveiled that the spinning jets used a plastic encapulated ball race. The plastic was worn and the bearing had fallen out. My tub is only 3 years old and 5 out of the 9 rotating jets in my tum have the same problem. I believe the former owner knew very little about spa care and chemicals, as the pillows were all bubbled (Looked like chemical damage). Sundance have now discontinued the use of any type of bearing in their newer tub jets and I am told the new jets will fit my tub....but cost over $30 each!!!

Does anone know where I can find sundance jets and pillows at a good price??
