This winter I had to drain my hot tub after I noticed the water temp was low and the water temp kept falling. Reset all the breakers and pushed the hi-limit thermostat button with no luck. I have had time to fill it back up and troubleshoot. All the pumps and blowers are working and the light on the control panel indicates the tub is being heated. Problem is that it is heating much slower than usual and after about 36 hours it seemed stuck on 82 degrees. Well the first thing I thought is that my heating element was gunked up/faulty. So I drained the tub and disconnected the heater. When I look inside the heater tube I can see the element and it looks very nice and free of any deposits. On one end of the heater there is a hi-limit thermostat. I am wondering if this is the next spot to check or what would be my next best move ?

Here is an on-line parts manual and diagrams. Page 12 is the heater

I appreciate any advice I can get as my back is kiling me and needs some soaking.
