My heat suddenly died.

When I turn the thermostat switch there is an audible click. I have a clean filter and good flow through the circ pump.

I have tested both electric receptacles for the heat elements and they were both over 220v. I pulled the elements and they do not heat up outside the box.

Does that sound like I need to replace the elements and is it common for both to go out at the same time?

You need to test each heater for continuity between the terminals.

They may not have both gone bad at the same time...one may have gone long ago...the tub would have still stayed heated with one element working.

Any reset buttons on the side of the electrical box?

Never attempt this with a heater element - They will fry in SECONDS, especially at 230v.

All you need is a verification of resistance measurement and voltage applied, or, a clamp on ammeter on one of the supply lines will verify amperage draw.

I have purchased and replaced both elements. I turned on the circ pump and primed it by removing the filter and stem and placing a hose down the hole.

I hear a bubbling sound coming from the heater box. It sounds like air trapped in the box. If so is there a way to get it out?

I do not want to plug in the new elements until I am sure that the ciculation through the heater box is good.

Thanks
