I just started up my Hot Spring Sovereign, 2004 I believe it is, and it began to heat up, got to about 90 degrees and then stopped heating.

I opened up the control box and found the heater relay panel charred on the front, very charred on the back and a piece of the control box melted. Photo attached. At no time did either of the circuit breakers pop.

The Heater relay panel is obviously dead, but would the panel just go like that or would some other issue with the heater cause cause it to fry like that. Meaning, if the heater or the thermostat went, would it fry the heater panel?

Thanks
D

The solder joints were not heavy enough to support the load over time in the original boards. The replacement boards are beefed up and work fine.
