I have a Hot Springs Sovereign LE circa 2000. Wavemaster 6000 heater I think with an ozonator.

It has 2 heating problems.

1. One time I jumped in the water....and it was 125 degrees. Ouch. But it has only happened once. I then flipped the circuit breaker off, and re-powered the unit...and voila...it has never happened since...but it does concern me.

2. No matter what I do the temp never gets above 92 degrees...even when set at JE4 which roughly equals 108 degrees. What is the problem????
From some posts it sounds like it might be the Thermistor...whatever that is, the two pronged thingy's leading to the circuit board?

I live close to the coast in Southern Cal which has two problems for electronic devices....Thermal expantion and salt air corrosion....just to let you know what environment my rig is in all year.

Please help, Thanx, Kristin

You can ohm out the thermistors. Set meter on 20k, and post results as well as current water temp- I'll let you know if they're in range.
Sounds like a bad thermistor to me too, but you ought to check before replacing them.
Also want to OHM out the heater.

The overheat was likely caused by the ghosting issue in you other thread :)
