I am new to forum.. I came back from a couple day vacation to find that my Cal spa wasn't working, trip the breakers and burned up my heating element. I replaced the element and it worked for a couple of days then took out another one, we have put in 3 new elements that only last 1-2 days. They told me that my chemical was off, PH low. So I drained it, cleaned it and re-filled, replaced the element again, only to last 1 day. If anyone has any ideas what I should try next, it would be greatly appreciated... Thank you Becky

Are the elements "Zippered" ( alloy melted in a spiral pattern ), or just dead with discoloration in a spot. It sounds as though you may have a "Dry Fire" situation occouring. Pictures would help.

You definitely need to provide a little more age/model info, and possibly a photo to clarify your model of Cal Spa.

Early Cal Spas used sensitive flow switches - which would turn on the heater with the slightest water flow. Yours sounds like you've got a lot of crud built up in the suction part of your pump, which is reducing your water flow. Even though you have flow, (enough to trigger the flow switch), you certainly wouldn't have enough to ensure the heater element's cooling that is necessary to keep it working without burning up.

If you've got a later model cal spa with a digital system then that changes everything I just mentioned.
