My heater went out in my old Leisure Bay Spa and the old control pack was rusted and looking pretty bad, so....
I purchase and installed a new Spa Babes SB-1000 Spa Pack, with the heater attached. A few minor adjustments to the existing plumbing and the new spa pack installed pretty easily - However, the heater will not heat at all. It's been running in auto temp mode for over 48 hours now.
Adjustments to the Spa Pack were made for it to run at 110v, ie: the jumper wire was attached from the L2 to the N...
Any suggestions on why the heater will not heat??
The only thing that was changed was the plumbing had to be moved up a few inches to attach to the new heater.
Thanks

Hi Tampajeff,
Is the replacement pack plumbed "Suction side" of the pump, or "Discharge side"?

The left side of the heater is connected directly to the side of the pump, not the top part (I don’t know which is discharge or suction). I am assuming that it is the suction side. The right side of the pump goes to the spa.
I attached a picture.
Thanks

Hi Tampajeff,
You are sucking water through the heater, instead of pushing water through.
Your old Hurricane pack had a clear tube (much like the air tubing) that fed the pressure switch. This replacement pack has the pressure switch in the heater.

Yes, that is correct - it had a tube attached to the back of the old control pack... the dealer told me to plug the tube up.
So you are saying that I need to switch the plumbing around on the the heater - the right side to the pump and the left side to the spa??
Thanks

Hi Tampajeff,
Yes, unfortunately that pack can only run "Discharge" side so that the pressure switch can have....well pressure.
Other options include retro fitting a flow switch in line, or installing an insulated (no 110v wires exposed) pressure switch where the brass hose barb is.

One more option would be to replace the pressure switch with a vacuum switch
