I have a Blue Ridge Spas Model 70072. It was in a house when I moved in. I got it set up but it's not heating. The heating light and pumps go on, so I am assuming the element may be burned out. Does anyone know what replacement heating element I might use for something like this? Are the Blue Ridge Spas using some proprietary thing or can I use a standard element? How can I test the heating element? Continuity with a multimeter? What would be the resistance across a good element?

Thanks for any advice you may have.

you definetely need to check for power at the element - you may have a blown fuse or faulty relay preventing power, however faulty elements are the most common fault - it will have a low resistance which varies with voltage and kilowatt rating. generally 10ohms - 15ohms for 6kw to 4kw respectively, and higher for lower wattages. it may have blown a fuse and this generally indicates an element shorted to earth even if resistance reading is good
