I noticed water shooting out of the end of the heater (the No Fault (ha!) 6000 heater). It turns out the plastic cap on one end is cracked, probably from not winterizing. I have removed the screws to the cap, but it seems connected to something. How do I remove it and can the cap be replaced?

Some of the older No-Fault 6000 heaters were prone to cracking where the 3/4" hoses attach. Also if it doesn't have a round green sticker on the top it is prone to burning and possibly catching on fire. You will need to replace the heater. Part # 73790. This is an upgraded 6KW heater that uses a power off, power on reset - no more reset button on the heater. They don't part out anything on those heaters.
