I have a ?year? Jacuzzi Corsica spa model 8200000 s/n 120168 that the heater just died on. (yes, it is the heater element, I did the Ohm meter test) I took the heater unit to our local spa shop and was told a new one would cost me $460. I don't even think my old spa is worth $460 for the whole thing!

The heater is a 6kw 230V size and the element is permanently mounted inside of a stainless 2.5" tube. The tube has the wiring and overlimit switch in a box on one end with a water flow coming out of the tube at a 90 degree angle up on one end (near the wiring box) and straight out the other end.

Does anyone know where I could find a universal type heater/overtemp switch type unit for a reasonable price? I tried looking up the correct part but can't find it on the web. As much as I'd like to just get a new spa, the $ just isn't there right now.

Is this what you are looking for?

Early version L style heater used on thousands of original Jacuzzi spas and hot tubs. Complete unit with 2" flanges, includes high limit switch, and heater element. 115/230V, 1500/6000 Watts.

Get a EHEJZ1600 over at http://www.spapartsnet.com, $199.95, less than half the $460 you were quoted by the other guys.
