Gulf Coast spa cool night series--Last month the gecko spa pack that came with my started acting up. pump 2 stopped working and would only come on when the blower was turned on i determined this was the pack shorting out. I left the spa on as the heater still worked and i do not have the money to buy a replacement pack at this time .last week the gfi tripped and would not reset i replaced the gfi with a non gfi and the spa worked (to keep heat on) don't worry no one has used the spa.. today i changed out the gfi with a new one it also triped i then disconnected the devices (pumps etc.) one by one and still the gfi trips. i then disconnected all wires connected to the pack except for power --gfi still trips .i then ran a new temp feed to the spa pack and tried gfi it still trips. I have other gfi breakers in my panel and they work fine--- My question is this could the spa pack be shorted out and tripping the gfi breaker??? Since i have to buy a new one what is a replacement spa pack that is not the gecko and will fit with minimal wiring, as i have read that the gecko is not that reliable.

Yes, the board can be (and likely is) the issue.
The pack should be easily replaced using something with the same heater size. You'll have to match up all your components, of course, but the actual sizing of the pack is usually determined by the heater.
