I have a brand new Cal Spa hot tub. THe water chemistry is within range. When the pump is running and bubbles are generated, I get cream to light brown colored bubbles forming in certain areas around the tub (when the pump shuts off all bubbles including colored ones dissappear). 90% of bubbles are bright white but the other 10% are colored. I use the tub on average twice a week with 5-6 people per time and for periods of 2-6 hours at a time. No-one really "rinses" off before getting in or takes off makeup.

Should I assume these colored bubbles are just oils? When I circulate each day to add chemicals, I continuously scoop the colored bubbles out but they just keep coming back in the same areas. How do I get rid of theM?

Also, any hints as what to do right before or right after a long period of use to keep it from clouding up?

being clean when entering the spa will help greatly. As far as cloudiness, keep your filters clean and your sanitizer in the proper range.

the problems you describe are definentally from dirty bathers.

Ok, so lets just say that the bathers being dirty wont change. Hot tub is always used for late night parties at which time we dont really think about wearing clothes not washed in detergent, taking off makeup, or showering off beforehand.

So, is there anything I can do right before or after its use? Like, should I shock the hell of it right after? Or? Just looking for things that might decrease the spa water recovery time.

the only solution is to drain, and refill. you can start by trying to do half water change at a time.

Bromine, Polymeric Biguinides, Chlorine?

Chlorine. And actually the water has completely cleared. I guess I am just wondering what I can do to help reduce this water recovery time.
