I have a persistant problem with my CalSpas Journey 507... The water is balanced and the bromine levels are good. I shock it regularly and have good water quality. If I don't use the tub for few days and turn on the jets, I get quite a bit of floating particles... it almost looks like pieces of crushed wet saltine crackers. The filters are packed with this crap and I can't figure out where it is coming from.

Three years ago a pina colada was spilled in the tub... I drained it the next day... could this be causing this?

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Keith M.

sounds like white water mold. Wet tissue paper in the water?

Best thing is to remove the filters, hose off. Get yourself some spa chlorine- dichlor. soak in chlorine water mix for couple days. Super chlorine shock the spa, run for about an hour with the spa cover off. Dump it, refill it. Balance the water via test strips or professional water test(at a spa/pool store) then reshock it and run it for another hour. Replace your filters.

Just a guess.
