Using chlorine with cd type ozonator, all the numbers look good when testing, the water is only about a month old, two bathers per day and the water just does not smell fresh, no chlorine odor just kinda smells old and funky. water is still very clear and new filter element. Any ideas? Thanks

your water may not be circulating enough, or you are introducing too many contaminants from your bodies. Most of the time it is the latter. Rinse your bathing suits (if used) in cool clear water to remove as much soap residue as possible. Try rinsing in a hot shower before using the tub for a while to see if that helps. Don't use perfumes, makups, deodorants, hair gels, etc, when you will be using the tub. I had an experiance similar to yours when a friend of mine came to use my tub. She wore a lot of perfume and the very next day the water was just rancid. Since then she has quit wearing perfumes when using her tub and she no longer has that problem.

It won't hurt to run a spa a grade or two above what most tests consider "normal" for chlorine. Hot tubs are the right temperature for harboring bacteria and for that reason sometimes need a slightly higher amount of sanitizer.

worth a shot!
