Hello, I have read in some earlier posts that muratic acid can be used to lower TA. Is this the liquid muratic acid? I have seen this in powdered form to. Are they the same.

My tub is about 450 gal. freshly filled with well water the TA and PH test very high darker than the highest color on the test strip. How much acid should I add?

I filled the tub 12 hours ago and plan to use clearwater blue sanitizer. I already added non chlorine shock and sodium dichlor per the directions. I know the water needed to balanced before the sanitizer was added but i was not sure how to deal with the balance problem. I let the tub heat up over night and did not want to let any bacteria to get a start. I had alot of trouble with my last fill and wanted to keep everything super clean.

Thanks for your comments
