still trying to figure this thing out. bought used spa, went to local pool store after months of trying to figure it out on my own and continually getting it wrong. they got me onto the spa frog program but said that all i need to worry about is bromine levels. they had me clean and drain spa w/ some type of cleaning agent, don't remember what, then add fresh water and a metal gone solution, then spa frog. now, things going good, using 3-4 times per week for a month just 2 of us. noticed i needed to have frog setting at 5 to stay a 1-2 ppm bromine. then we went away for 10 days. get back, heat tub, and run a test strip. bromine 10+, alk 0 - 40, ph <6.8, ch 100. chlornine type smell upon openning cover. (didn't want my skin to fall off so we didn't go in) how do i correct this? is it an easy fix, or do i need to drain and start over? i saw another thread about procedures so if i need to drain you don't need to retype all of the instructions. if i do start over, do i need to start with brand new spa frog cartiges or can i use the same mineral cartrige? any good help will be greatly appreciated. i'm getting kinda sick of all the bad advice from pool stores.
