Yesterday I filled my hot tub for the first time since end of last year was closed down for a few months. I filled it last night and ran the heater pump all night this morning I put some chemicals in a small amount of chlorine shock, some PH up and some stabilizer. When I came back to check on the pool a few hours later the water had turned milky white. I never had this happen before. It started just when I added the chlorine to the water. I did notice it at first but disregarded it because I thought it was just the chlorine dissolving in the water but it is still there. Any ideas. Thanks
Mike

Is there any chance that some of the old water was still in the low parts of the lines when you re-filled the tub? There could have been some nasty bacteria growing there over the past few months.

My advice would be to let it sit for another day. If it's still milky, you should bring a water sample to your local store for testing, and they should be able to tell you what's causing the discoloration.

Thanks, I think you are partially right what happen as I am told is that the filter, which is the old one from last year, could have been filled with bacteria or sorts and that is what caused the milky white color of the water. It has now been running for a couple of days and is starting to clear up. Thanks for the feedback
