Other than body oils, deodrant, etc. What other chemicals increase pH. I use bromine, Calcium hardness increaser (Have to put soft water in), pH down and shock out.

Many things can. Your fill water(at times), rain water(gets through your cover seam), Bodies using the spa, bromine tabs will help to lower ph. Is it that you're having trouble with stabilizing ph. If that's the case, you should adjust you're alkalinity first to 100-150ppm-baking soda works(sodium bicarbonate), then retest your ph 1/2 hour later and adjust as necessary up or down.

Also, if you're "shocking" with houshold bleach or other Hypochlorite type chlorine- can get a substantial PH increase

Alkalinity down and PH down are the same thing, sodium bisulfate.

What I was told was that they are the same thing (sodium bisulfate) but they are administered differently. To lower the PH you would sprinkle it in. To lower the Alkalinity you try and concentrate it in one small area. It was told that some will use pantyhose to keep it all balled up.

Alkalinity is decreased over several days of adding regular doses of ph decreaser. It's a misconception that adding ph decreaser in one location reduces alkalinity. It's also referred to as the "column effect." It needs to be done over several days.
