be careful with Marquis. I bought one partly because of "great" warrantee. Dealer recently sent a letter stating that all warrantee service calls would now cost $65 travel expense. I called them and the Marquis company stating they can't break the contract unilaterally like this. No satisfaction, the full "warrantee" is BS. Marquis stated "dealers are independent business people and we can't make them retract the warrantee charge."

you'll find that many spa manufacturers do not cover travel expenses, particularly outside of their immediate area.
not restricted to brand in question - check warranty documents carefully and ask about travel expenses b4 purchase if you think its an issue.

good point. I did check the warrantee. It states a service travel charge may be charged for tubs out of the "normal sevice area". Problem is that the dealer did service our tube under the warrantee without the charge so we were not out of a normal service area at that time, they sent the letter to all customers, not just the distant customers. They are in violation of the written warrantee and Marquis company will not force them to honor their warrantee. I suggest Marquis is not the premium company they claim to be.

This is a universal issue with just about all manufacturers/dealers. It's also another reason why some pretty great spa brands can get a bum rap. Spas break, new or old, and the farther one is away from a dealer that actually has someone qualified to repair it, the greater the problem is.
