I am looking for feedback on the purchase of either a new Leisure Bay spa or a 2001 Vita Spa for $1500 less. The used one is in good condition and is more comfortable, is warranteed, and has more bells and whistles than the new Leisure Bay. It has a good record of upkeep.

I would go with the used one, and since it is under a warranty, you might want to check to see if the pumps have been replaced yet, and if not, check to see if they would do that (or at least replace the seals) upon customer request. If they are original pumps, the seals are likely near the end of their service life. Otherwise, spas will last as long as they are kept in top shape. I have a spa that is 21 years old this year, and the only problem it has ever had was the pump (as far as leaks) and only had to have that changed once, 2 years ago. The element.... that's a different story!
