I have been researching buying a Sunrise spa for 2 weeks. Locally it's about the only brand available in my city. Specifically I was looking at the Journey model http://www.sunrisespas.com/journey.php - I've had the electrician over, and I've got all the knowledge I need about chemicals, and water quality, etc...

My main concerns are, how is the Sunrise brand? I've been assured by the dealer it has "sufficient" insulation, and that it has a 5 year warranty (best in the business he says) but I've read every other brand offers that same warranty! :) I live in Northern Ontario, and we do have some pretty cold winters here.

I also did do a search here on "sunrise" but all the questions are regarding older models for repairs...

I would value any input on this brand, or if I should stay away, or consider one of the other models instead. I'm a single bachelor, and as such mostly will use this tub alone. (based on that, I looked at the 110V models too, but I don't want a piece of garbage I will regret in 2 years time)

Thanks!

For whatever its worth I was advised years ago by someone who owned one "DOn't get a 110VAC spa". It will not have the juice to hold temperature when open and in use. I am presuming here that you will be installing it outdoors. I'd also be looking for dual pumps rather than one if you really want to feel the jets. I'll bet you can have pretty much anything shipped to you even if the local dealer doesn't handle it. My .02 (USD) worth.

I appreciate the 2 cents...

This is a 220v model, not 110. As I mentioned, I had an electrician come over and know what's involved there with that.. $300 which includes the 40amp breaker at the panel, and all wiring, plus installation of the GFC.. (not 30amp)

Also about the pumps, maybe it's the terminology they use, it says 5.0 SPL Dual (1 installed) is that noe one single, dual pump? I am a single guy, I understand I can shut off a couple of the jets, which, would increase the pressure on the lounger one that I would likely be using... maybe I am wrong?

I really wanted to know about Sunrise, by brand and reputation, from any dealers here or users who own / sell / have owned one..... Thanks!
