i have an old tub that i think is teak. water is leaking out through the holes that the jets go through. i have unscrewed the wall fitting on the inside of the tub. i have found there is no gasket on the inside (the plastic fitting that holds the directional ball and has a male thread that fits through the wall of the tub sits directly on the tub wall). there is a rubber gasket between the outside wall of the tub and the jet body. is there anything i can do to help make sure that it doesn't leak when i reassemble it? what about the suction fittings - do they work the same way. the lowest one is also leaking pretty badly.
is it normal that there are no gaskets on the inside of the tub between the wall fittings and the tub???
thanks, jake

The gasket absolutely belongs on the inside of the tub, with a little silicone on the threads to seal into the outside jet body. HOWEVER, if it wasn't leaking before, there's a good possibility to wall fitting(s) are cracked.
