Hello.

First, thanks for the GFI forum. Using it, I trouble shot the new (to me) hot tub that I had installed back in October. With the ozone generator unplugged, I no longer have the GFI tripping.

The electrician that had supposedly been attending to the issue obviously didn't do any basic trouble shooting. But, I'm not going to digress and *itch about him.

So, my next step is to purchase a Marquis Spa ozone replacement. It is the PM (mini j and j ? ) plug type. I got that spec from a site that sells replacement ozone generators, so it could be inaccurate. I could post a photo if that would be beneficial. The current ozone generator is a cylinder about 10 inches tall, black, says marquis spas on it.

The spa is a 2003 Marquis Coastal Series "Reward". I would prefer to purchase the manufacturer's replacement part. But, I guess I could be convinced that an OEM/replacement ozone generator could be used instead. I mean, all it does is make a highly reactive gas...

I did some searches online, but haven't found the correct one. This is close ( http://spa-works.com/product.php?produc ... =75&page=1 ) but it doesn't have the correct plug type, the hose doesn't exit from the same location, and the model year doesn't appear to be correct. There is also this one: http://www.spa-works.com/product.php?pr ... =75&page=1

Anyway. I appreciate any suggestions / insight you have to share.

You need to match barb size, power requirements, and the plug (unless you want to hard wire it). From there you need to decide on UV vs. corona discharge. If your tub has a 24 hr circ pump, UV will last longer. If not, some would argue the CD will produce more ozone and there's no bulb to burn out, but it does have a limited lifespan.

As for matching yours exactly, the only reason I'd do that is if it is installed inside the control pack itself. A pic would be helpful just to ensure that you're looking for the right plug since that seems to be the main snag.

Here is the picture that I have of the board. You can see the connector is the bottom one of the four.

My picture doesn't show the connector itself
The connector I need is in the bottom left of this picture, which is the corona type ozone that I found online:

So, what is barb size? Just the tube diameter? Sounds like corona discharge is better for this tub, since there is not a 24 hr circulating pump.
