I picked up an old Blue Ridge Spa for cheap (free). I think it was made around '94, that what it says on the inside of the control panel. I the previous owner had it wired to 220v, but I need to use 110v (really just to make sure it works till I can get a dedicated 220v connection). I wired in a plug just like the diagram inside the control panel says, but every time I plug it in the GFCI resets (it has a GFCI built into the panel). The weird thing is, if I remove the fuse, the thing starts up.... without any heater I am assuming. I am attaching pics to make sure I didn't make any wiring boo boos

Any suggestions? I am thinking the GFCI in the control panel is bad. Can I bypass it just as a test? Could it also be too much load on the circuit?

Update:

If I bypass the GFCI, things come to life. So that is probably bad... not a big deal. There are no labels on my control panel, just a knob and two buttons. I figure that the knob is for the temp control, and I know one switch is for the light. It's the other button that has me puzzled. When I plug the spa in, I get one of the lights on over the button, but when I push it, one of the relays starts clicking and another light flashes. If I push it again, the other light comes on solid and no clicking. Also if the heater knob is turned up (and the contactor is engaged) and you push the button, the contactor and relay click.

Am I missing something converting it back to 110v? Or should I just have it wired up for 220v?
